These screens collect a huge amount of air contaminants, but once they are completely full they stop being helpful and can become harmful. Simply set an alarm or mark your calendar every few months to check the filters and avoid the dirty air.
• Clean Carpets and Rugs – Material on the floor can hold onto a lot of debris like dirt, dust and dander. These are then released into the air at different times. Keeping carpets and rugs clean lowers the air contaminants – especially if you have pets.
• Use Kitchen Vents – When you’re cooking, turn on the vents in your kitchen to suck moisture straight outside. If this moisture goes through the air system, it could collect and cause bacteria or mold to grow.
